Mr Roka is an experienced lawyer in Nepal and the United States. In the USA, having started his legal career in a Manhattan based law firm, followed by some others, and now as the sole practitioner. Mr. Roka has had the experience and ability to resolute even the most complicated issues.

Mr. Roka received his Master’s Degree in Laws (LLM) in U.S. Legal Studies from Touro College, Jacob D. Fuchsberg Law Center, Huntington, New York. Prior to law school and practice in the United States, Mr. Roka, graduated in Tribhuvan University, Nepal with a law degree (LLB) and MA degree both. He thus was qualified and skilled as an Advocate of the Supreme Court in Nepal beforehand. As an attorney, he was admitted to practice in Nepal in 1983 where he primarily practiced corporate and business law. He was one of the founder members of Manu Law Firm. While he was involved with this firm, he served as legal consultant to Hazama Corporation, Japan, in Udayapur Cement Project and Kathmandu City Bus Terminal. Mr. Roka also served as consultant to Kawasaki Heavy Industries, Ltd. Japan, Karnali River Bridge Project in Nepal. Besides, he served as consultant to Shrestha Construction Co. Htd. (Pvt.) Ltd., and to other business organizations. For a couple of years, Mr. Roka was appointed as representative lawyer by the Supreme Court and Mid-Regional Court in Kathmandu, Nepal to represent indigenous people before these Courts. He represented to the indigenous people referred by the Legal Aid Project of Nepal Bar Association (NBA) and served as legal advisor to Nepal Trade Union Congress as well . Mr. Roka served as secretary to the Supreme Court Bar Association. He served as executive member to NBA, member to legal aid committee and member of editorial and publication board of monthly law journals, ” Nyaya-Doot” published by NBA and “Nyaya-Pratik” published by … Since he acted as chief editor and publisher to these magazines, he would report the important opinions of the Nepalese Supreme Court. He also penned numerous articles and published in the Law Journals in Nepal.

He was also a part of many legal international and national legal seminars that have been held in Nepal and USA. Mr. Roka is also the author of several articles that have appeared in professional Nepalese publications in the USA such as Nepali Awaz, Bishwo Sandesh ,Nepali Khabar, among others in which he rendered the countless general advice to many community based readers on immigration law matters. Recently, he was honored as a distinguished honorary with the commendation letter by William Thomason Jr., Comptroller City of New York for his outstanding contributions and exceptional leadership in south Asian community, uninterrupted commitment to advocacy on behalf of alliance for democracy & Human Rights in Nepal, exclusive success in having the published poet, courageous commitment on preserving and promoting the rich heritage and culture of South Asia.
